  • ABOUT STAY GOLD

Chelsea Winkel AKA Goldy started Stay Gold Coaching to teach beginner park and ramp skating skills. After COVID started, she took her street and derby skills to the skatepark along with all of the other pandemic roller skaters :)  She saw a need for core skills training and a safe place for to learn. She built a backyard ramp to create a safe place for her and friends to learn and grow away from the busy skateparks. Goldy loves working with other coaches and wants to expand the Stay Gold brand to other coaches and skaters.

My partner and I did a private session with Goldy and had so much fun! My partner was brand new to skating and I was a bit more experienced but Goldy took us back to the basics and ran some drills with us. I’m a “pandemic skater” and it was so great to have someone actually experienced teaching me and not trying to remember tips and tricks from YouTube or Instagram. There’s just no beating the quality of personal instruction and I learned so many new things from Goldy including on-skates and off-skate drills! I can’t wait to practice some more and come back again!

It’s been a few days since my first lesson at GNARnia. From the moment I got there I felt comfortable being coached by Goldy. She was kind and out going and very structured on her teaching. She taught me that I can do a lot more then I knew I could. There were many moments she knew I could do it before I realized I could. Her advice helped me feel so much safer. She also told me what I should or shouldn’t attempt at the parks for now. I thought that was really thoughtful and made me feel like she truly cared if I got hurt. This girl had me feeling like I can walk on water. I hear her voice in my head “you forgot to look” now when I’m making mistakes. My falls also don’t scare me like they did before. I think my most memorable day skating this far was at her house and I can’t wait to go back in a few weeks.
